The brief was to create an analogue zine and mural mock-up for a charity.

A zine and mural project in support of a refugee charity.
The brief was open, but I knew I wanted to respond to the refugee crisis — a subject that’s often politicised and overwhelming. Rather than focus on the bigger picture, I wanted to bring it down to the human scale: to explore the everyday struggles real people face, through no fault of their own.
The zine presents simple, factual scenarios — things most of us take for granted, like access to family, food, or safety — and reframes them in a way that invites empathy. I deliberately used a playful, light visual language to soften the delivery. The subject is incredibly serious, but in a world flooded with bad news, I felt this softer approach might connect more deeply — not through guilt or shock, but through relatability and quiet reflection.
